And now, a couple of funnies for the day

I thought I’d put these up here because sometime soon, I’m going to have a more serious post going up and I want to inject some humor in, beforehand. (This IS The Belgian Takedown, after all -and the subject I’m going to talk about is a serious one, and one that needs the Boot of Truth put to it, too!)

Enjoy! These are taken from the book Screw Calm and Get Angry: (additional comments in ellipses are mine)

WORK:

“By working faithfully, eight hours a day, you may eventually get to be a boss and work twelve hours a day.” – Robert Frost

“Hard work never killed anybody, but why take a chance?” – Edgar Bergen

Stupidity:

The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it’s unfamiliar territory.” – Paul Fix (There’s a good one to pull out on the right occasion. ‘Sorry, I was lost in thought.’ ‘Oh, unfamiliar territory, eh?’)

“Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something” – Plato (Hollywood! Are you listening??)

And finally – a couple of ones that make you think even while they may make you smile:

“We are more interested in making others believe we are happy than in trying to be happy ourselves” – Francois de la Rouchefolcald

“We wish to be happier than other people, and that is always difficult, for we believe others to be happier than they are.” – Charles Louis de Secondat

God bless today, my friend!
